The Advocacy Committee of the Tri-County Bicycle Association works with local governments, businesses, and other groups to insure that our roads, trails, and other infrastructure have bike-friendly features.
We go to public meetings where bicycling issues, especially Complete Streets, are discussed and communicate our concerns during public comment periods and in written communications. We report on any decisions that were made. We also interact with print, broadcast and online media. Our monthly committee meetings, Chainwheel Chatter articles, e-mail lists, social media, and web page are forums for watching and communicating developments.
Everyone is welcome to participate at our meetings which take place on the second Wednesday of each month at The Avenue Cafe from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For more information about upcoming and past meetings, click here.
Our Committee plays major roles in two annual events. First of all, it organizes and runs the Great Lansing Ride of Silence. Secondly, its members participate in the cycling portions of Smart Commute.
